Women’s Organizations Host Feminist Economic Justice Summit

The NOW Foundation, the National Council of Negro Women and the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) will convene the 2008 Economic Justice Summit.

In Atlanta, Georgia April 10-12. The Summit will bring together academics, researchers, and grassroots advocates to discuss current findings on the economic status of women and to develop strategies to advance economic justice for women domestically and globally.

Among the topics that will be addressed through interactive workshops, skill-building sessions and other presentations are: Labor, Business, and Global Trade; Family, Community, and Population; Health, Human Security and Women’s rights; Voter Mobilization and Civic Engagement. The deadline for research papers and workshop proposals is January 20, 2008.
