Family violence activists announced plans for a World Conference on Family Violence to be held in New Delhi, India this September. The conference will host delegates from more than 100 nations and will focus on all forms of family violence, including child, elder and spousal abuse. The conference will attempt to develop “practical, sustainable solutions” to family violence worldwide.
Chief Executive of the YWCA in the United States and conference committee chair Prema Mathai-Davis said, “Family violence is the number one issue facing the 21st century.”
